When it comes to matters of love, it’s often platonic devotion that proves the most intimate and carries the most weight in one’s life. Cinema has long been awash in tales of romantic love, of course, but it’s rare to see a tale of love between two female best friends, especially one that genuinely shows what it is like to have that kind of soul mate, without whom everything else would be askew. But with Noah Baumbach’s latest film, Frances Ha, we see one woman’s journey of self-discovery, ignited by a fractured friendship.

This is such a worthwhile thing to start doing. Conceal under your eye in a triangle shape. Your makeup will look more blended and you’ll achieve that more flawless look. Plus, it won’t show up as harshly in flash photography (if your concealer has SPF or just isn’t great with flash). I do this every single time I do concealer even if that’s all I’m putting on that day. I know so many people that do what is done on the right (concealing just right under the eye) and let me tell you it doesn’t look that great.

For some reason, I am, at times, an excellent communicator, and then at others, I’m the exact opposite.

Family members, boyfriends, even strangers, I’m fine with confronting.

Co-workers and roommates are a different story. I really need to confront my current roommate about an unpaid bill, but I feel like I can’t. I also want to confront him about leaving our kitchen a total mess and then going to Chicago for a few days, but I feel like I can’t. I feel like if I say anything, it will be detrimental to our roommate relationship which has been alright lately. But, I also know that if I don’t say anything, I will stew in my anger and internalize how stressed this is all making me.

I really need to live alone after this, or live with someone I feel like is on the same page as me.
